Cameroon: 148 billion to relaunch two strategic roads

Cameroon is launching a vast project to rehabilitate the Edéa-Kribi and Lolabé-Campo roads, at a total cost of 148.1 billion CFA francs.

A project, which has been 5 years in the making, will be 98.5% financed by the African Development Bank and Central African States Development Bank.

The 110 km Edéa-Kribi section is divided into two lots. It will benefit from financing of 100.8 billion FCFA* already available. Work is scheduled to start in July 2025.

Lot 3, linking Lolabé to Campo (39 km), will also include urban and social improvements. It will be financed to the tune of 45.2 billion FCFA by BDEAC, but the funds are not yet fully secured. Launch is targeted for December 2025.

Objective: to sustainably open up the Kribi industrial and port zone, a strategic pillar of economic development in southern Cameroon.
