Morocco’s Energy Bills: A celebration of 11.6% reduction

The Moroccan government has announced a significant drop in its energy bill, which now stands at 874 million dollars for the month of January 2025, a reduction of 11.6% compared to the previous year.

This performance is the result of structural reforms aimed at reducing the country’s dependence on hydrocarbons and boosting renewable energy production.

Gas and fuel imports fell by 26%, contributing to this improvement. This decline underlines Morocco’s progress in its energy transition, while strengthening its resilience to international price fluctuations.
