Financing : World Bank grants CFAF 240 BN to Cameroon for economic resilience

The World Bank Group has approved a loan of $400 million (around CFAF 240 billion) to support Cameroon’s economic resilience.

This financing, divided into two components, aims to stabilise public finances, improve budget transparency and strengthen the mobilisation of fiscal resources.

The first component, entitled ‘Financing development policies’, supports reforms to promote inclusive and sustainable growth. The second, called ‘IMPACT’, is aimed at optimising public spending, particularly in the areas of health and access to drinking water.

This loan comes at a time when Cameroon is aiming for tax revenues of CFAF 4,410 billion by 2025, with a target of raising the tax burden to 14% of GDP.
